Deadline 15 January 2025: Erudition and the Republic of Letters is pleased to announce the 2025 Essay Competition. They invite submissions which make original contribution to the history of scholarship, intellectual history, and to the respublica literaria, from the late Middle Ages to the late nineteenth century.

Essays are particularly welcome from PhD students and those who have recently received their doctorate, and must not have been accepted for publication, or be under consideration for publication, elsewhere.

The winning submission will be awarded €500 as well as €500 in book credit, courtesy of Brill, and will be published in a forthcoming issue of Erudition and the Republic of Letters.
