Book History Writers Group

bh writers group

The Book History Writers Group described below is currently dormant but can easily be revived. Please contact Ann Blair at amblair at fas.harvard.edu if you are  interested in doing so.

The Book History Writers Group is dedicated to discussing works in progress on any and all topics that concern manuscript, print, and digital cultures; readers and reading practices; publication and transmission; censorship and copyright; and the history of library and information sciences. All time periods, geographical locations, and disciplinary perspectives are welcomed.

All graduate students and scholars are welcome to participate. Dissertation or book chapters, prospectuses, articles, and conference papers are all fair game. We intend this to be an informal environment in which to try out works in progress in front of fellow writers with shared interests in the history of books and related media, but coming from a wide range of expertise.

The group meets every 2-3 weeks on Friday afternoons. In most cases, papers will be pre-circulated.
