Are you looking to discover some new books? Do you have books you have enjoyed and would like to share with other bibliophiles rather than keep on a shelf in your home? Then come and participate in the Ticknor Society Book Swap! You can free up shelf space and expand your reading horizons at the same time.

Here's how it works:

·  Bring some books to contribute to the swap (as a general but definitely not required rule, perhaps around three).

·  We encourage you to leave a short note on an index card or piece of paper inside the front cover with your name, why you recommend the book, and a favorite quote or interesting piece of information.

·  When you arrive at the event, volunteers will take your books, sort them, and place them on the corresponding genre tables.

·  Enjoy some refreshments and mingling with fellow book lovers while the tables are prepared.

·  The tables will then be opened up to everyone for browsing. Begin by taking as many books as you brought. If there are books left at the end, you are welcome to take more!

Please RSVP to ticknorinfo@gmail.com so we know how much to provide in the way of refreshments, tables, and chairs. Carpooling is available; let us know if you would like to carpool when you RSVP and we’ll make arrangements. If you plan to drive and can take additional passengers, we would love to hear from you too!
