Abstract: "In 1995, the UNESCO decided that  World Book and Copyright Day would be celebrated every year on April 23rd  because  it is on this date that Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. Alas we must recall that Cervantes died on April 22rd and was buried the day after ant that Shakespeare lived and died in England that refused the Gregorian reform of the calendar. For all Christendom April 23rd was May 3rd. In spite of this missed meeting, this lecture will examine various encounter between Cervantes and Shakespeare by looking at their last words, by following their meeting in Valladolid imagined by Anthony Burgess and by  tracing the presence of Don Quixote  in England between 1605 and 1653"
