Derillo specializes in Ethiopian manuscripts and modern and contemporary Ethiopian literature; Ethiopian codicology, medical and magical; Ethiopian history 15th-19th century; Ethiopian manuscript illumination and Geez literature; and liturgical and hagiographical texts of medieval period.
