Dear book historians, colleagues, and friends,
We are delighted to announce the ninth annual Harvard-Yale Conference in Book History: "The Book and Beyond." The event will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, and is co-sponsored by the Yale Program in the History of the Book and the Seminar in the History of the Book at the Mahindra Humanities Center, Harvard.
The conference will feature opening and closing remarks by John Durham Peters and Peter Stallybrass; panel chairs Ann Blair, Jessica Brantley, Alex Csiszar, and David Scott Kastan; and presentations on a fascinating range of topics, from Charles Dickens' ephemerality in print to Persian textual production. All are welcome to attend, and no previous experience in book history is necessary. Please contact graduate organizers Andrew Brown (andrew.s.brown@yale.edu) and Trina Hyun (trina.hyun@yale.edu) with any questions or to RSVP. We hope to see you there!
