Thursday November 18, 5:30–6:30 PM (Eastern Time)

As the pushback against stories that center on nonwhite characters continues to threaten the fabric of the American narrative, this lecture will serve as a reminder of why our stories truly matter.

She has received more than 300 awards, including the National Book Award, four Newbery Honors, three Coretta Scott King medals, the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, and the Hans Christian Andersen Award.
