An introduction to book history and its connections w ith intellectual, cultural, and religious history, this course focuses on popular Protestantism in Britain and early America, together  wit h certain "revolutions"  in print in the context of political insurgencies; as well, it deals with the relationships between writers, readers, and the book trades. Apart from weekly readings and brief reports, the principal assignment is a 15-20 page research paper using primary sources. Jointly offered as History 1905.
