DESCRIPTION:<p><span>The Exhibition </span><a href="https://library.harvard.edu/exhibits/war-words"><em><span>War of Words: A Citizen’s-Eye View of the Revolution</span></em></a><span> is now open in Houghton’s main exhibition space. With a few exceptions for University holidays and events, it is open Monday through Friday, 10am to 5pm. There will also be a special opportunity to view the exhibition from 12-3 on Saturday, July 4<sup>th</sup> (no registration required).</span></p><p>From the first protests against British taxation to the treaty that ended the war, <em>War of Words</em> brings together the posters, pamphlets, newspapers, and images that brought news of the American Revolution to those who lived through it.&nbsp;</p><p>Curated by John Overholt, Curator of the Donald and Mary Hyde Collection of Dr. Samuel Johnson and Early Books and Manuscripts.</p><p>Access the audio guide and accompanying videos on <a href="https://guides.bloombergconnects.org/en-US/guide/houghtonLibrary/exhibition/b363e4d6-682b-47ef-a0a8-be7ce198a777">Houghton's Bloomberg Connects guide</a>.</p><h3>Curatorial Chats</h3><p>Join&nbsp;John on one of the 30-minute guided tours listed below.&nbsp;This will include discussion of the themes of the exhibition, highlights from the materials on display, and ample time for participant questions. Attendees should gather in Houghton's lobby.
