As the long-time proprietor of Firefly Press in Boston, John is one of the most distinguished heirs of the long, classical tradition of fine typography and design in New England. For over forty years, the goal of Firefly Press has been to apply the craft of true letterpress printing and the virtues of traditional typography to the needs and circumstances of the present day. John’s subtlety and mastery of the craft of printing are evident in everything from exceptional book design to the “celebratory printing” that has been the hallmark of his work. His distinctive and elegant designs have graced publications of colleges, universities, libraries, and foundations from across the US, as well as artists and noted bibliophiles.</span></span></span> </p> <p style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt"> <span style="line-height:150%"><span><span style="color:gray">Registration to the lecture is appreciated but not required; The link to the events page at the Boston Public Library is </span></span><span><span style="color:#202020"><a href="https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__societyofprinters.us2.list-2Dmanage.com_track_click-3Fu-3D543e59d52c23f0c501658fffe-26id-3D3966b7276e-26e-3Da470e90d3c&amp;d=DwMFaQ&amp;c=WO-RGvefibhHBZq3fL85hQ&amp;r=d-51fevjuWJ7WzZY0y0BouTOvLCsE6Nbeq9XtutWF7k&amp;m=M9Fl6YrwNuuH17qNFi9tPzUu9UsKMi5YFu8JhnJmnaSwYe3u7ApaGTO1JpzwU7RL&amp;s=agfxOMg1ZqY7KFovZRngcVYJQMKI3oLWGHpDSZyM3JM&amp;e=" target="_blank"><span style="color:brown">https://bpl.bibliocommons.com/events/63ff61982e149ac1243752b0</span></a></span></span><span><span style="color:brown">.</span></span></span> </p> <p style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt"> <span style="line-height:150%"> </span> </p> <div style="text-align:center;padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt" align="center"> <hr width="100%" size="0" align="center"> </div> <p style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt"> <span style="line-height:150%"><strong>THE SOCIETY OF PRINTERS</strong><br><em>For the Study &amp; Advancement of the Art of Printing</em></span> </p> <p style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt"> <span style="line-height:150%"><strong>COUNCIL</strong></span> </p> <p style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt"> <span style="line-height:150%"><span><span style="color:dimgray">President: Scott Vile</span></span><br><span><span style="color:dimgray">Vice-President: Sarah Hulsey</span></span><br><span><span style="color:dimgray">Secretary: Dawn Walus</span></span><br><span><span style="color:dimgray">Treasurer: Michael Babcock</span></span><br><span><span style="color:dimgray">Auditor: Alex Camlin</span></span></span> </p> <p style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt"> <span style="line-height:150%"><span><span style="color:dimgray">Christopher Pullman</span></span><br><span><span style="color:dimgray">Safoura Rafeizadeh</span></span><br><span><span style="color:dimgray">Lisa Roberts</span></span><br><span><span style="color:dimgray">Michaela Sullivan</span></span></span> </p> <div style="text-align:center;padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt" align="center"> <hr width="100%" size="0" align="center"> </div> <p style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;text-align:center;padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt" align="center"> <span style="line-height:150%"><span><span style="color:dimgray">Sponsored by the Society of Printers, Boston</span></span><br> </span> </p> <p style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;text-align:center;padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt" align="center"> <span style="line-height:150%"><strong>Please direct any questions to the Secretary,Dawn Walus, at</strong><strong> secretary@societyofprinters.org </strong></span> </p> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </td> </tr>	</tbody></table><p>	 </p><table class="Table" style="width:100.0%;border-collapse:collapse;border:undefined" width="100%">	<tbody> <tr> <td> <table class="Table" style="width:100.0%;border-collapse:collapse;padding:6.75pt0cm0cm0cm;border:undefined" width="100%" align="left"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="width:450.0pt" width="600"> <table class="Table" style="width:100.0%;border-collapse:collapse;padding:0cm0cm0cm0cm;border:undefined" width="100%" align="left"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="padding:0cm13.5pt6.75pt13.5pt">												 											</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </td> </tr>	</tbody></table><p>	 </p>
