DESCRIPTION:<span>For our eleventh Standing-Room Only Lecture, Inge Druckrey will share<br>research from her forthcoming book, In Honor of Letters. Focusing on<br>important innovators Edward Johnston, Anna Simons, Rudolf von Larisch, and<br>F.H. Ehmcke, Druckrey will trace the renewal of handwriting in the late-19th<br>and early-20th centuries, and follow the influence of this renewal on<br>20th-century type- and graphic design in Germany and Switzerland.<br><br>Inge Druckrey is a Basel-trained designer and educator. She has taught at<br>Yale, RISD, University of Hartford, Philadelphia College of Art, and Kansas<br>City Art Institute.
