Mount Auburn was founded in 1831 and the 174-acre cemetery and arboretum quickly became the model for the American rural cemetery movement. It has since been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a National Historic Landmark. We will have the opportunity to explore the landscape, which will be in full fall splendor, and learn about the authors, poets, and scholars who are memorialized there. Be sure to wear your walking shoes, as the cemetery is hilly and some paths are not paved. If you would like to join us, please email us at  Email :ticknorinfo@gmail.com</p>
