Harvard's preeminent lecture series in the arts and humanities, the Norton Lectures recognize individuals of extraordinary talent who, in addition to their particular expertise, have the gift of wide dissemination and wise expression. The term "poetry" is interpreted in the broadest sense to encompass all poetic expression in language, music, or the fine arts. Past Norton Professors have included T.S. Eliot, Jorge Luis Borges, Leonard Bernstein, Czeslaw Milosz, John Cage, and Nadine Gordimer.</p><p>	<span class="title red">The Norton Professors in 2018 are Agnès Varda, Wim Wenders, and Frederick Wiseman</span></p><h3>	Wide Angle: The Norton Lectures on Cinema</h3><p>	<em>4pm, Sanders Theatre, 45 Quincy Street</em></p><p>	Monday, January 29 and Monday, February 5: <strong>Frederick Wiseman</strong><br><em>The Search for Story, Structure, and Meaning in Documentary Film: Part I</em> and <em>Part II</em></p><p>	Monday, February 26 and Tuesday, February 27: <strong>Agnès Varda</strong><br><em>The 7th Art and Me</em> and <em>Crossing the Borders</em></p><p>	Monday, April 2 and Monday, April 9: <strong>Wim Wenders</strong><br><em>Poetry in Motion</em> and <em>The Visible and the Invisible</em></p><p>	View the Harvard Film Archive's retrospectives for <a href="http://hcl.harvard.edu/hfa/films/2017decfeb/wiseman.html">Frederick Wiseman</a> and <a href="http://hcl.harvard.edu/hfa/films/2017decfeb/varda.html">Agnès Varda</a>.</p><p>	Events are free, but tickets are required. Tickets will be available starting at noon on the day of each lecture. Tickets will be available in person at Sanders Theatre or <a href="https://www.boxoffice.harvard.edu/Online/default.asp">online</a> (handling fees apply). Limit of two tickets per person.
