"Specimen Collectors: Museums and Scientific Knowledge in Nineteenth-Century American Literature"  
Reed Gochberg is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Humanistic Inquiry, Amherst College. Her book project explores the relationship between nineteenth-century American literature and the history of museum collecting, tracing the importance of specimens, artifacts, and other material objects to literary discussions of conservation and scientific practice.
