Exhibition: Look But Don't Touch: Tactile Illusions on Maps Dates: 25 Oct 2017 - 28 Feb 2018 Location: Pusey Hallway Description: Whether in illusions of curling corners, ripped insets, or overlapping sheets, cartographers have long enticed us to reach out and touch their creations. This exhibition invites you to learn more about the relationship between touch and sight in the representation of abstract space and how those visual illusions have traveled the world. Reception for Look But Don't Touch: Tactile Illusions on Maps Date: 25 October, 5:30 pm - 7pm Location: Pusey Hallway; Lamont B-30 Description: Starting at 5:30 pm on the 25th, the Boston Map Society will be hosting the opening reception in Pusey with some light food. At 6:15 pm in Lamont B-30, David Weimer will discuss the 400 year trajectory of maps with tactile illusions
