Open to the Public [See All Hours](https://library.harvard.edu/libraries?active_filter=1&library=houghton) [Directions to Houghton Library](https://g.page/HoughtonLib?share=) In the language of books, massive size is often aligned with importance. Yet importance takes many forms, including the tiny. The largest books ever printed exceed the dimensions of our exhibition cases, while the smallest cannot be opened by human hands. This exhibition features just a few of Houghton’s “big books” juxtaposed with “tiny tomes,” revealing how the scale of a book and the scale of its ideas can fuse in the hands of a reader.

This exhibition was curated by Peter X. Accardo, Scholarly and Public Programs Librarian, and Molly Schwartzburg, Philip Hofer Curator of Printing and Graphic Arts.
