A Harvard Houghton Library Typewriter Talks series
Led by Sylvia Plath scholar and editor Amanda Golden, this seminar will explore the impact of everything from the pink paper Plath chose to compose on to her annotation of Eliot's *The Waste Land* to her playful tendency to refer to her writing instrument in the third person ("my smug typewriter"). Golden will also consider such material aspects as recycling and what writers might learn from Plath's engagement with the physical dimensions of the writing process.
